I believe his ancestors is mixed with black on the line somewhere.
You are always on their maiden name when her marriage is your own personal choice, but many are still celebrated under its original name, even if they are married.
And maybe somewhere in the line of her family, she married a gringo.
Perhaps his father is white and mother is Mexican, you never know.
